Contracting Incentives and Vehicles

AGSC's status as a wholly owned, small business subsidiary of a 100% Alaska Native-Owned Corporation qualifies us for several federal contracting incentive programs. In addition, we have several contract vehicles in place that government agencies can access for work at their facilities. By contracting with AGSC, federal agencies and commercial prime contractors can take full advantage of the benefits of these programs and contracts. The bottom line is that AGSC can help you meet your small business subcontracting goals and minimize paperwork—getting your work done faster and more cost effectively.

Incentive Programs

SDB Certified 8(a) and Small Disadvantaged Business Programs
AGSC is a certified 8(a) small disadvantaged business by the Alaskan Small Business Association. In order to maintain our status as an 8(a), AGSC is subjected to a rigorous annual review of our ownership, daily management, operations, experience, and financial status. This provides confidence to our clients and prime contractors that bonding, insurance, and other legal requirements are met and that AGSC is properly maintaining our SDB/8(a) status and the viability of our organization.

As an Alaskan Native Corporation (ANC) subsidiary, AGSC brings additional unique contracting benefits under the SDB and 8(a) program:

  • AGSC is eligible to bid on all small, small disadvantaged, and 8(a) set-aside contracts that fall under our NAICS and SIC codes, providing broad teaming opportunities in arenas with limited competition
  • AGSC is permitted to subcontract up to 85% of the contract value to non-8(a) contractors under our 8(a) and SB/SDB set-aide contracts, as long as the integrity of the program is maintained, benefiting our clients with a qualified, experienced, and well-rounded team
  • Using AGSC as a subcontractor or teaming partner on government contracts helps prime contractors and government contracting agencies meet their SB utilization goals in several categories, including SB, SDB, 8(a), and Native American
  • AGSC is eligible to receive sole source 8(a) set-aside contracts regardless of dollar size, with no upper limit, while all other 8(a) firms held to a sole source contract limit of $3 million or less, streamlining and expediting the federal acquisition process
  • Contracting Vehicles
AGSC has several contracting vehicles that individual federal facilities can access in order to get their work done quickly, efficiently, and cost effectively. Using capacity under our existing contracts helps cut through the red tape and provides alternatives to the lengthy and costly procurement process. In addition, facilities can rest assured that AGSC has been evaluated and deemed a qualified contractor with the appropriate experience to ensure your work gets done right.
